Sleeping

Josh was not feeling well so he took a nap with our cat.  Jake now shares his bed with Jack since he ends up crawling in next to him every night.. We tuck Jack in on the other side and we always find him right next to Jake every morning.

Ski Trip

We just returned from our annual ski trip to Canaan Valley, West Virginia.  Jason's brother, Ryan, spent the week with us.  We were able to ski 3 days... one was rainy, one was warm, and the last day was freezing cold and windy.  We took a day off and went for a hike(minus Jake and I since he hurt his leg) and played a long game of Monopoly.  The game ended with Jake and Jason battling it out.  It was fun to watch.  Autumn, Ryan, and I went out pretty early.  Of course, we always seem to have a few good stories to talk about.......

When we arrived, we turned on the electric and water.  A few minutes later, there was water pouring in the kitchen.  We were all running around trying to turn off all the faucets and telling each other to get buckets.  Of course, we had no clue where they were located.  So for the first day, Jason carried buckets of water from the stream to the house so we could wash dishes and flush toilets.  Thankfully, a plumber came out the next day to fix it.  The next morning Jake woke us up to let us know that he threw up but didn't know it.  (Oh, and we did not have water yet:-)  Thankfully, it only happened once and didn't turn out to be real sick.   At the end of this day, Jake wiped out trying to catch Autumn and hurt his knee.  By the time we got home is was very swollen and puffy.  He rested it the next day and was able to ski by Friday.  As we were cleaning the house and getting ready to leave, we realized that something was wrong with the pipes again.  Jason and Ryan worked hard to unclog the toilet.

We really had a fun week.  We always enjoy having Jason's brother with us.  There is always a lot of laughing when he is around.  It's great to listen to both of them tell stories of their childhood.  Of course, they each remember their stories a little differently.   Jack stayed with Jason's parents and had a great time.  I don't think he was too excited to see us.  I'm sure he liked getting all the attention.  However, I was thankful  that at the end of the week we were all reunited and arrived home safely.

Our first snow!

We can't believe it is actually snowing.   We finished school early today so they could play in the snow.  After a few cold hours of being outside, we finished by drinking hot chocolate.

Cute cat pictures

Autumn likes to treat the cats like her babies.  They love it when she carries them in her arms and they even do school.  Jack decided the cats needed a check-up.

Josh the Lion

Josh loves to dress-up... sometimes 4-5 times a day.  Since Jason has been reading the Chronicles of Narnia to the kids, Josh has wanted a lion costume.  Jason's parents got him one for Christmas.  Have you ever seen a lion play the drums?

Two days after Christmas

I couldn't resist publishing this picture.  We all had a good laugh at Ryan's expense.  We exchanged gifts with Ryan and his parents on Saturday before we left to travel home.  This is Ryan's tree.
